Bulletheads are small armoured squid that attack by collective ramming. Solo encounters are easy to outmaneuver, but a typical pod will commit to multiple passes and only break off when they tire out. Their armour deflects most light weapons, so engaging head-on costs more time and durability than it returns. Strafe sideways, drop a Flare to disrupt the pack pattern, and use the gap to escape vertically. Reserve your knife for stragglers; a full-pack fight is expensive in oxygen and worth avoiding even when nothing else is on screen.
How to handle an encounter
- · Disengage on first contact. Distance beats damage trade against this species.
- · Break line of sight. Most aggressive species lose lock within a minute.
- · Engage only with a clear oxygen budget and a planned exit.
