Cerathecan
Slow-moving filter feeder that signals danger upstream.

About Cerathecan
CautionMid-depth open water
Cerathecans are passive mid-water creatures that drift through Coral Gardens and the deeper open zones. They are not aggressive and rarely react to players, but their movement patterns are useful navigation cues — when a small pod scatters in a hurry, something heavier is moving in the same column. Approach for a clean scan from below to avoid spooking the group. The body provides a moderate amount of organic mass when harvested, but the scan and the navigation read are usually worth more than the meat to an early-game player.
How to handle an encounter
- · Approach only with a plan. The species reacts to crowding or contact.
- · Scan from outside its threat radius before considering a closer pass.
- · Move on once you have the data; do not linger near the spawn.
