Coral Crabs make their homes inside the larger coral domes, only emerging when prey passes close. They are slow on open ground but devastating in tight space because their armour resists most player damage during the lunge phase. Treat coral domes as choke points and approach from above whenever possible. If one engages, retreat into open water where the speed disadvantage flips against the crab. Mining coral for Quartz is otherwise a routine starter chore, so build the habit of spotting a dome from a distance before committing to a pickup run.
How to handle an encounter
- · Approach only with a plan. The species reacts to crowding or contact.
- · Scan from outside its threat radius before considering a closer pass.
- · Move on once you have the data; do not linger near the spawn.
