Electric Geordies look like ordinary Geordies until they stop running. Their pulse fires at very short range, so the simple rule is to never let one face you on close approach. Discharges interrupt swimming and drain oxygen at an awful moment. Keep your distance with a Seaglide, hit with a quick scan, and move on. They are worth knowing because their pulse will also stagger small predators chasing you, which means the first one you find can act as an unintentional bodyguard if you keep it between yourself and a more dangerous threat.
How to handle an encounter
- · Approach only with a plan. The species reacts to crowding or contact.
- · Scan from outside its threat radius before considering a closer pass.
- · Move on once you have the data; do not linger near the spawn.
