About Geordie

SafeShallow coral plains

Geordies are the standard shallow-water fish — passive, ubiquitous and the first databank entry most players unlock. They follow loose schools that drift between coral patches, easy to track and easy to grab. Their meat is acceptable cooked, but their real value is a cheap scan that confirms biome boundaries: if a tile is too sparse for Geordie, you have wandered out of comfortable territory. Use them as a baseline to feel out new dive paths. The Electric Geordie variant looks similar at a glance, so confirm the colour before swimming through a clustered group.

How to handle an encounter

  • · Approach freely for scans and harvest.
  • · Use the species as a soft biome cue — sudden absence usually signals trouble.
  • · Cooked or salted variants stack well for long dives.
