About Halfmoon

Halfmoons are mid-tier edible fish, slightly larger than Foureye and a step better as food. They favour open water at moderate depth and form loose schools that ignore the player until physically obstructed. Their main role is mid-game protein — three or four cooked Halfmoons cover a long dive, and they keep well in a freezer. Easy to scan without aggression and the schools mark stable patches of biome that have not been disturbed by a larger predator recently. If they vanish from a familiar tile, treat that as a soft warning before swimming further.
