Scourge Hives are sessile colonies that release small, fast drones when something disturbs the area around them. The drones spread Bloom contamination on contact and pursue aggressively until the player leaves the colony radius. The hive itself does not move, but destroying it is expensive and most early-game players are better off marking the location with a Beacon and routing around. Approach the hive only with a long-reach weapon and a planned exit. Two hives in a single biome will overlap their drone radii, creating a crossing zone that is only safely passed at speed.
