About Surge Jelly

CautionOpen water and currents

Surge Jellies pulse with a strong directional current that pushes any nearby swimmer along the jelly drift line. The push is mostly helpful — riding a Surge Jelly current saves stamina across long open stretches — but it also pulls you toward whatever is downstream, so verify the direction first. They sting on direct contact, so stay just outside the body and let the surge field do the work. They are common around currents that connect Coral Gardens to the deeper biomes, and a healthy column of Surge Jellies typically marks a route worth scouting.

How to handle an encounter

  • · Approach only with a plan. The species reacts to crowding or contact.
  • · Scan from outside its threat radius before considering a closer pass.
  • · Move on once you have the data; do not linger near the spawn.
