Veps Sensors are stationary scanning drones placed near and inside alien ruins. They do not attack on their own, but they call in Veps Defenders the moment they classify a target. They are usually visible — a small bright sensor halo — and you can pass them outside the detection cone with a careful approach. Knocking one out before it triggers is doable with a single solid hit, but the noise will sometimes alert nearby Defenders anyway. Treat them as the actual hard part of any ruin run; the Defenders are just the inevitable consequence of triggering one.
How to handle an encounter
- · Approach only with a plan. The species reacts to crowding or contact.
- · Scan from outside its threat radius before considering a closer pass.
- · Move on once you have the data; do not linger near the spawn.
